Top Choices for Ideal Dental Care & Maintenance
Brush twice a day with a Sonicare brush for a full 2 minutes.
Buy on Amazon, Costco or Bed Bath & Beyond
Any model is fine; there is no difference
Buy extra heads and replace the head every time you get a dental cleaning
Floss nightly.
There’s no difference between the various types of flosses
Use whichever floss works best for you
Here is my personal favorite.
Use a great toothpaste, like Grind Oral Care, a charcoal based, non-fluoridated whitening toothpaste (Dr J is a co- owner of this fantastic product and 25% is donated to Homeless Not Toothless)
Rinse with mouthwash (or warm saltwater) after flossing.
Any mouthwash that is alcohol-free is best.
Try a tongue scraper, water-pick or hand dental picks.
Bonus points for using these tools which are in ADDITION to the above; NOT a replacement for brushing and flossing.
Avoid sugar.
It comes in three forms: fruit, carbs and raw sugar. All these forms break down to sugar, and we obviously do not want to limit your fruit and carbs as they are essential. The white raw sugar, however, is the worst and needs to be eliminated or severely reduced.
Get cleanings three times per year (or as recommended by your hygienist / dentist) .
Place varnish or fluoride (a protective coating) on your teeth after your professional dental cleaning.
